Dietary catering – the most important information

Catering dietetyczny - najważniejsze informacje

Dietary catering – the most important information: Currently, dietary catering, or as some call it, “box diet”, is one of the extremely popular ways to lose weight and move to a slightly healthier lifestyle. It is hardly surprising. A well-balanced meal in a box removes the requirement for additional education in terms of calorific value and nutritional values of individual products, and tells us how to combine different products with each other to make the meal nutritious and tasty. It is certainly a pretty good solution for people who don’t have time to cook. However, apart from the advantages, dietary catering also has its disadvantages. Find out more about what a box diet is and how to choose the best one for you.

Box diet – what is it?

Dietary catering or the so-called The box diet is nothing more than a service consisting in the preparation and delivery of meals to the client for the whole day. Various companies may offer various meal packages or offer individual product selection and a guaranteed amount of calories in one meal. If you want to throw off unnecessary caligrams, it is worth checking whether a dietician cooperates with a given company offering dietary catering and whether we can meet with him for consultations.

The box diet can fulfill various tasks. It does not only have to be used to reduce weight, but in general to provide well-balanced meals to people who do not want to cook or do not have enough time for it. Currently, catering companies have also introduced catering for sportsmen, which is characterized by a higher calorific value.
As a standard, companies offer a package of five or four meals delivered daily, or only from Monday to Friday (sometimes there is also the option of six days a week) at fixed times.
Due to the growing interest in dietary catering, more and more companies offering this type of service appear on the market. In virtually every major city, we can find a dozen or so companies that compete in offers and bonuses.

Dietary catering – types

At the outset, it is worth noting that various companies offering dietary catering may offer different types of meals. However, there are some main types that appear most often. Of course, at the beginning, the basic diet (also known as standard, varied, etc.) should be mentioned, which consists of the basic guidelines for the nutrition of the average middle-aged person. Other, more specialized diets include paleo, vegan, vegetarian, sports, lactose-free and gluten-free diets. Virtually each of the diets mentioned may have different options in terms of calories. By default, the caloric content of individual diets can be as follows: 1000 kcal, 1200 kcal, 1500 kcal, 18000 kcal, 2000 kcal, 2500 kcal, 3000 kcal.
If we want to achieve specific results using a given diet, we should consult our decision with a nutritionist. However, not all companies offer this option and we often have to decide for ourselves what is best for us. Unfortunately, we don’t always manage to make the right decision. Choosing, for example, a 1000 kcal diet at the very beginning may be too much of a shock for our body and it is better to start with something more similar to our typical caloric balance, but healthier. It’s a good idea to choose a few diet plans that seem good to you and go to a dietitian for consultation. Then we will be sure that we will not make a mistake.

Dietary catering – cost

Unfortunately, dietary catering is not a cheap service. The price may vary from PLN 50 to PLN 70 for all meals during one day (assuming that it is about 5 meals). Converting to a full month, we can pay about PLN 1,500-2,000, assuming that it concerns all days. Catering may be limited only to meals served from Monday to Friday, excluding weekends. In this case, we will pay much less (about PLN 1000-1200).
Price issues depend on the number of meals. Typically, we have the option of five or four meals during the day and their calorific value and ingredients. The more demanding on nutrients and preparation, the higher the price will be.

Dietary catering – for whom?

The easiest way is to answer that for everyone who wants such a service. However, first of all, dietary catering is geared towards people who do not have the opportunity to spend enough time cooking or lack knowledge about healthy eating. For people who are trying to lose weight, this option may also be useful. After all, showing up less often in stores means less temptation.
